Brewers cook up a solution for Allied Bakeries

The interior ceiling of the Allied Bakeries factory at Stevenage needed redecoration, the steel panels constructing the ceiling were brown and discoloured. Allied Bakeries required the ceiling to be a hygienic, clean and white surface, all in keeping with their exceptional hygiene standards.

Following advice from the Brewers Protective Coatings team, Biosan Aqua Plus fulfilled the criteria as a bactericidal two component water dilutable epoxy coating. Being extremely hard wearing with exceptional abrasion resistance and providing a seamless easy to clean surface, it was ideal for the needs of the job.

Rust-Oleum Mathys Biosan contains the unique antibacterial agent Bactron which surrounds and partly penetrates the resin and pigments. 

Where surfaces are subject to severe wear or vigorous cleaning, the antibacterial properties of Biosan are constantly replenished, providing on-going protection against the harmful effects of bacteria throughout the normal service life of the coating.

Biosan with Bactron supported by good housekeeping practices, is the ideal solution for the maintenance of a hygienic environment in areas where cleanliness is of utmost importance, e.g. hospitals, food processing plants, kitchens, dairies, breweries, abattoirs, leisure centres and schools.

Being water-based the Biosan range are low odour allowing the ceiling to be coated without stopping the operation of the factory. All that was needed was to partition off and protect those areas being coated with sheeting.
